Like paint on a canvas, splashes of gold, rust, red, and greens cover the mountains. A chill filled the air as fall settled on the land. Chattering raindrops drip lazily off the leaves onto the spongy tundra below. Driving down the road after picking berries, you look to the mountains and see a black bear doing her berry picking. Your eyes glance down at your purple-berry-stained hands, and you are grateful for Alaska's abundance. Salmon-berries, raspberries, crow-berries, cranberries, currants, cloud-berries, and blueberries are some of the Last Frontier's treasures. Those treasures now hold a different meaning for you.
