A Thrifted Floral Gown & Golden Light on the Oregon Coast | Oregon Coast Senior Portrait Photographer
Some photo sessions start with a location. This one started with a dress that we found in Saint Helens, Oregon at a thrift shop for $45. I’m always on the lookout for unique dresses, I crossed my fingers that it would fit her, and miraculously it did!
A soft green gown covered in embroidered flowers — the kind of dress that feels like it belongs somewhere in a storybook. The moment I saw it, I knew it needed. I wasn’t sure where we were going to use it, just that we had to! Something about the salty air, and soft golden light felt like the perfect place to bring it to life. I loved how the sunset lit up the fabric, it was perfect! I also decided to edit these photos in a more romantic and artistic way.
For this senior portrait session, we chased the evening light along the coast near Rockaway Beach, Oregon in a town called Oceanside, Oregon. I’ve been to the oregon coast many times and never visited Oceanside. I loved it! The ocean breeze, blooming peonies, and dreamy floral details all came together in the best possible way. I also have to mention the wind, you know it’s a whole personality on beach sessions. But that’s what I love so much about the wind, you can’t control it, you just have to embrace it.
I am hoping to do more Oregon Coast beach sessions! So if you are interested let me know. My inlaws live in Oregon, so having a photoshoot to do down there gives me a great reason to add another visit!
